Storm crow This was definitely one of those pictures that was made in the darkroom. Picture the scene - a bright sunny day at Stonehenge, with lots of fluffy white clouds, and a little shadow underneath them. I was about to photograph the crow that was sitting on the locating nodule of the main right-hand upright, but by the time I'd got the aperture set, the bird had flown off! Never mind, I thought, I'll take the picture anyway, and hope that you can just about see the bird in the image. - The original print was just too nice, so I started to experiment with a bit of dodging and burning to boost up the contrast and power of the image, although it was done in a bit of a rush, since I had spent a lot of time on "Where's the fire?". Needless to say, this one got the ten. - Thanks Martin. |
