Monkey puzzle

Taken in Plymouth zoo, around 1973, this is one of several on the theme of "captivity" that I was re-visit in the 1990's

I wasn't aware at the time, of the powerful message that can be portrayed by the subject of animals in cages, since it is usual to try to eliminate the bars.

In this case that was not possible, so I just had to arrange for the baby to have his head fully between the links of the fence.

I'll probably put all of my animal shots together in one gallery later on.

I believe that it's a colobus monkey, but no doubt a zoological friend will correct me.
