The Galleries
| Gallery 1, by way of introduction, contains some of my "experimental" photographs. These are mainly shot using monochrome infra-red film, although I avoid the more frequently seen subjects, such as grass and tree foliage; preferring my results to be either more bleak or dramatic, depending on the mood ( or the weather! ). | ||||||||
| Eclipse '99: I have had a Tasco 10.5 cm telescope in its box for about 3 years, waiting for a worthwhile project, and then along came the eclipse! - In fact, I was so impressed by the sensation of the partial eclipse that I'm planning on going to Australia to see the real thing in 2003. In the meantime, I'm having a practice on the moon! | ||||||||
| Gallery 3 contains the first season's photographs that I entered into Bromley Camera Club's competitions. These were drawn from negatives that went back to the early 1970's. Listening to judges who complained of insufficient contrast in beginner's pictures, I opted for more black, and the results were well received. Curiously, the one high-key, soft-focus photograph won the beginner's Oakden Cup at the 1992 exhibition. - There's no accounting for judge's tastes! | ||||||||
| Motorsport: Apart from some very early pictures taken at Brands Hatch in the 1970's, I hadn't had much opportunity to photgraph motor sports until a friend invited me along to take some snaps of his team at a touring car event in 1998 ( again at Brands Hatch ). Following this, I have also attended a couple of 750 Motor Club events at Brands and Lydden Hill in Kent. These pictures show the fun! | ||||||||
