Where's the fire? This was taken at the Fuller's rural weekend show at Crystal Palace in 1991, where a variety of rural crafts and equine related subjects were on display. It was originally intended simply as a record of the old chemical fire engine, but when I first saw the print, with the costumed fire-fighters (and the horse!) looking in different directions, the title sprang to mind. I put a lot of effort into making the print but the judge dismissed it as an uninteresting subject. He did give it an eight out of ten for technical merit, - so my effort of spotting out all of the litter on the grass wasn't totally wasted! The other print that I put into the same round faired much better, though. - See "Storm crow". |
